Bronchoscopy Service

Bronchoscopy is a medical procedure that involves the examination of the airways in the lungs. During bronchoscopy, a thin, flexible tube called a bronchoscope is inserted through the nose or mouth and down into the lungs.

The bronchoscope has a light and a small camera on the end, allowing the doctor to visualize the inside of the airways. This procedure is often used to diagnose and evaluate various lung conditions, such as infections, tumors, bleeding, or blockages. In some cases, bronchoscopy can also be used to take tissue samples (biopsies) or to remove foreign objects from the airways.

It is generally considered a safe and effective tool in the field of respiratory medicine.
